AI viewing experience
As AI features become a larger part of users’ daily lives, it has become crucial to provide a productive and seamless viewing experience for AI-generated content. In 2025, with One UI 8, we launched an updated system that offers a more flexible and adaptable viewing experience.

We updated one of our most productive experiences, the AI viewing interface. Our goal was to explore how to present text-based AI content in a way that adapts to each user’s needs and workflow.
Problem : Resizing and Positioning Requirements. In the previous version of the AI window experience, many users enjoyed using split view to see both the original context and the AI-generated results simultaneously. However, user feedback revealed strong dissatisfaction with the limited positioning and resizing options.
More flexible Viewing experience. To address this, we developed a more flexible framework that allows the AI window to be resized and repositioned seamlessly, whether floating, docked to the right, or placed at the bottom of the screen, ensuring consistency and adaptability across apps and devices.
I focuesed
Clear layout that contains all information for users Framework supports for cohesive and scalable experiences From the earlier version to new levels of flexibility
With the expansion to larger displays and foldable devices, we aimed to move beyond the previous, limited window experience. My focus was on transforming the earlier, inflexible design into a fully adaptable layout that feels natural and responsive across screen types.
It was important not to let the AI content overpower the original text. I focused on creating a clear structure and smooth interactions so users could easily compare both. To achieve this, I designed three layouts with balanced proportions between the original and AI content.
We closely collaborated with interaction designers to meet user expectations for switching and resizing behaviors. When users want to change the viewing type, they can simply drag the AI window to a new position, and the system automatically adjusts the layout, no need to navigate complex settings.
Users can easily resize the window by dragging or minimize it to return to the original text without distractions.
This feature was not only applied to a single app but extended across six different apps and numerous Galaxy device features that connect directly with users. To ensure consistency across this ecosystem, it was crucial to build a framework that supports a cohesive and organized structure.
